Udaipur on Lake Pichola

Udaipur is a major city in Rajasthan, India, known as the "City of Lakes" and formerly the capital of the princely state of Mewar. Founded in 1559 by Maharana Udai Singh II of the Sisodia Rajput clan, it served as a crucial historical stronghold before becoming a British princely state in 1818 and joining Rajasthan in 1947
